Surfacing Slowly

Happy April Fool's.  What's your AF resolution?  Mine is to quit smoking by my birthday.

Anyway, regarding my current earworm... a good friend of mine wrote this song for my brother a long time ago.  I've always loved it and can relate to it all too well... it's hard to keep afloat in these turbulent times, so the song is as relevant today as it was during its conception.

If you want to hear it, hit me up for the mp3.

Surfacing Slowly
=============
Words and Music by... well, hit me up if you really want to know.

been underwater since i don't know when
and time passes slowly five into ten
been underwater and i still don't know who i am

i can get back to a better off place
with the sun in my hair and a smile on my face
i can get back to the time when i still won the race

and i'm surfacing slowly
surfacing slowly
surfacing slowly with you
seems like the right thing to do

down fifteen fathoms the pressure's so strong
and you can't move your head 'cause it just takes too long
down fifteen fathoms the current don't move you along

i can get back to a better off place
with the sun in my hair and a smile on my face
i can get back to the time when i still won the race

and i'm surfacing slowly
surfacing slowly
surfacing slowly with you
seems like the right thing to do

carry me quickly 'cause i don't wanna go
'cause i'm tired of sleeping and moving so slow
carry me quickly 'cause when i get there i will know

been underwater since i don't know when
and time passes slowly five into ten
been underwater and i still don't know who i am

i can get back to a better off place
with the sun in my hair and a smile on my face
i can get back to the time when i still won the race

and i'm surfacing slowly
surfacing slowly
surfacing slowly with you
seems like the right thing to do

surfacing slowly
surfacing slowly
surfacing slowly
surfacing slowly

Peace out, babies.
